  • Dr. Fitzgerald’s approach is scientific and research-based with a delivery that’s humanistic, kind and at times salted with humor. Core treatment methods include mindfulness, CBT, psychoanalysis and ACT. Her patients range from highly functioning people seeking peak performance, to those going through challenging life situations, to folks needing support in managing severe and persistent mental illness. The first step of therapy is a diagnostic assessment, and the second is developing realistic and measurable short and longer term goals. The focus is three-fold: reducing symptoms, achieving a higher quality of life and enhancing self-efficacy - the belief that one has the capacity to implement the thoughts, feelings and behaviors to reach life goals. Treatment is research-based and solutions focused.

Areas of clinical expertise include complex differential diagnosis and treatment for depression, anxiety, bipolar disorder, trauma and PTSD, OCD, psychosis, adult autism, and dual-diagnosis disorders. Her expertise is weighted in the areas of diagnosing and treating personality disorders and assessing for suicide risk. In addition to clinical mental healthcare, Dr. Fitzgerald provides civil-criminal-forensic consulting services to attorneys that include preparing psychological evaluation rebuttals, expert witness testimony, psychological preparation for deposition, and jury selection.
