Education and Licensure: Laurie earned her Master of Science in Marital and Family Therapy from San Diego State University. She received her undergraduate degree in Psychology with a Business Minor from the University of California at Los Angeles campus. She is also certified in Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR), an evidenced-based trauma-focused intervention and is extensive training in Brief Strategic Therapy and Solution-Focused Therapy. Laurie is licensed in the state of California as a Marriage and Family Therapist.
Specialty: Laurie can treat a wide range of emotional problems. Her specialties include trauma, addiction, women’s issues, anxiety, depression, performance enhancement, family therapy, stress-management, and couples in transition. Laurie has extensive training in trauma-based approaches and has set up effective therapeutic programs to address such issues. She has been licensed for 16 years and has provided therapy services for over 20 years.

Personal: A native of California and a former All-American Distance Runner, Laurie likes the outdoors and enjoys being physically active. She also likes to experience cultural and artistic events that reflect the diversity of San Diego. On her spare time, she likes to travel and explore other places with her family.
