  • Dr. Lydecker earned her B.A. from University of California, Berkeley and Ph.D. in Clinical Psychology from the San Diego State University (SDSU) / University of California San Diego (UCSD) Joint Doctoral Program. She completed an APA-accredited internship with Veteran Affairs San Diego’s Substance Abuse and Mental Illness Program and UCSD’s Eating Disorders Clinic. Her APA-accredited post-doctoral residency was with Kaiser Permanente Central Bay Consortium in Oakland. She is a licensed Clinical Psychologist in California.

  • Dr. Lydecker has 18 years of professional experience assessing and treating individuals with addiction and co-occurring disorders. She has also worked with individuals impacted by a family member or partner’s addiction. With over a decade of experience as a clinician and supervisor in a large outpatient rehabilitation program, Dr. Lydecker has expertise in both abstinence-based and harm reduction treatment approaches.

    Additionally, she has specialized training and experience in the assessment and treatment of ADHD, eating disorders, PTSD, and personality disorders. Dr. Lydecker’s extensive background in clinical research is the basis for her commitment to evidence-based practice. Her approach to psychotherapy is collaborative and driven by the individual client’s goals and needs.

  • Dr. Lydecker was born and raised in San Diego and is proud to serve the mental health needs of her community. She enjoys beach days with friends and family, spending time in the mountains, attending her kids’ sports games, and traveling as often as possible.
