  • Jenny Burgraff earned her Master’s in Social Work from Portland State University and received her undergraduate degree in Sociology from the University of Oregon. Her primary internship was spent working with pediatric oncology patients at Oregon Health Sciences University Hospital.

    Jenny has over fifteen years of healthcare experience and for the past eight years has worked with children, adolescents and adults in a psychiatric hospital and with clients of all ages in a small private practice. She is currently licensed to practice in California.

  • Jenny has extensive experience working with individuals experiencing trauma and abuse, depression, anxiety, challenges with emotional regulation, self-esteem, self-harm, grief, substance use and adjustment to life changes, including medical diagnoses and chronic illness. Her approach to psychotherapy is collaborative and focused on the human need to first and foremost have a safe relationship where they are not judged and are held in the highest of esteem.

    She utilizes a trauma-informed approach that is rooted in emotionally focused therapy and integrates skills and interventions from Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Acceptance and commitment therapy (ACT), Internal Family Systems, Solution Focused therapy and Mindfulness.

  • Jenny is a member of the National Association of Social Workers (NASW) and the California Society for Clinical Social Work.

  • Jenny was born and raised in Oregon and has lived in San Diego for over eight and a half years and considers herself both a Californian and Oregonian. She loves spending time with friends, family, her beloved Bearded Collie Charlie Brown, and loves hiking, writing, reading and cooking.
