  • Dr. Melo earned her Doctor of Psychology (Psy.D.) degree from The Chicago School of Professional Psychology, Los Angeles in 2018.

    During her training, Dr. Melo immersed herself in various clinical settings, gaining invaluable experience working with children, adolescents, and adults. Her internships spanned across diverse environments such as schools, universities, outpatient facilities, and residential recovery programs for homeless individuals.

    Dr. Melo pursued her postdoctoral training focused on treating clients with mood and psychological disorders in a university setting, further honing her expertise and clinical skills.

  • Dr. Melo specializes in addressing a wide range of mental health concerns, including mood disorders, trauma, intergenerational trauma, intimate partner violence (IPV), performance anxiety in athletes, grief and loss, substance use disorders, issues of emerging adulthood, social justice issues, women’s issues, intersectional identities, and concerns specific to Black, Indigenous, and People of Color (BIPOC) communities, as well as LGBTQIA+ concerns.

  • A native of Los Angeles, Dr. Melo’s passion for mental health advocacy stems from her own experiences as a woman of color. Committed to social justice, she possesses a natural talent for the healing arts and soul work. Dr. Melo is deeply dedicated, both personally and professionally, to advancing diversity, equity, inclusion, and accessibility in mental health services, particularly for individuals from marginalized communities.
