Annie Murray, Ph.D., ABPP-CN

  • Dr. Murray earned her master’s degree from Pepperdine University and her doctorate from Alliant University (an American Psychological Association accredited program). She completed a 2-year Clinical Neuropsychology Fellowship at UCSD and earned her Board Certification in Clinical Neuropsychology.

    Prior to pursuing a career in Clinical Psychology, Dr. Murray earned a bachelor’s degree from the United States Naval Academy in Annapolis, Maryland, and served for eight years as a Navy pilot, flying helicopters from aircraft carriers. Dr. Murray is licensed to practice psychology / neuropsychology in California and Arizona.

  • The majority of Dr. Murray’s professional experience has been with the military population. She also has extensive experience working with adults in hospital, residential, and outpatient practice settings. Her specialties include neuropsychological and psychological testing with Traumatic Brain Injury (TBI) patients, ADHD, Neurodegenerative Disorders and brain tumors, as well as evidence-based psychotherapy for mood disorders, trauma, relationship issues, and insomnia. She has additional specialized training in Executive Coaching, and has held multiple leadership positions. She also enjoys supervising intern and postdoctoral trainees.

  • Dr. Murray is an active member of the American Academy of Clinical Neuropsychology (AACN), the National Academy of Neuropsychology (NAN), and is a credentialed Health Service Psychologist as part of the National Register of Health Service Psychologists.

  • Dr. Murray is originally from the Midwest, but considers San Diego home. Her role as a mom is most dear to her, and she spends a lot of time watching her boys’ Little League games. After becoming a mother, Dr. Murray began to advocate for maternal health; she serves as an ambassador for a maternal health non-profit organization. In this role, she has been able to marry her professional knowledge with her lived experience of childbirth complications as an invited speaker and advocate.

    Her strong belief in supporting women’s health initiatives has led her to run multiple marathons and other races. She enjoys relaxing while watching TV or reading a book.
